Alejandro Zelaya was born in Puerto Caberas, Nicaragua on February 8, 1958. He was the proud son of Jose Demetrio Zelaya and Iris Massimo Edwards. At an early age, Alejandro and his family moved to Managua Nicaragua.
During the Nicaraguan War, Alejandro became the Chief of Police in the small town at Bluefields Nicaragua. He later migrated to the United States of America in the 1980's. While in the United States, he met and married Sonia Gonzalez, and to this union came three beautiful children ~ Alex, Alexandra and Alexis. He is also survived by his three older children born in Nicaragua - Annelisse, Elias and Vanessa; his siblings - Julio, Oscar, Carlos, Helen, Fernando, Cristina and Nancy; and more than fifty nieces and nephews.
Alejandro was a friendly and loving person. He was caring, very giving, and he loved God no matter the circumstances. Our Alejandro will be greatly missed…may he rest in peace!
