Evelyn Elphina Wilson was born to Frederick Brewster and Arabella Brewster Hall in British Guyana. Three months later they all migrated to Bermuda. Since her father passed away while she was still a child, she had no biological family outside her mom and brother, Henry. Therefore, she built friendships and bonded with friends as family throughout her life.
Elphina's early employment began at the Bermudian Hotel, but she found her niche at the Bermuda Telephone Company where she worked for many years until her retirement. She then went to work at the Hamilton Princess Hotel to close her years of employment.
Elphina was a skilled seamstress since a teenager. During this time, she developed an eye for fashion and implemented it all her life. She kept her hair and nails done on a regular basis, and would dress for the occasion before leaving her house for anything. Elphina also kept an immaculate home that was completed with her piano in her living room.
In December of 1986, Elphina was married to Austin James Wilson who always called her Evelyn. The couple migrated from Bermuda to Orlando, Florida; they had determined that this would be the ideal place for them to enjoy their senior years. Elphina remained a dedicated and loving wife to the man of her vows, and was ever concerned to his complete care.
Elphina was an active member of Mount Zion SDA Church in Kissimmee, Florida. She served faithfully as: Women's Ministry Leader; Community Service Director; Sabbath School Superintendent; Choir Member; and Church Pianist. Elphina was also a member of the King's Daughters.
