Lovie (Quinn) Holmes was born to Ethel (Brock) and Inas Quinn of Tylertown, Mississippi on September 28, 1934. She was called to return to The Lord and her Eternal Home on August 10, 2016 in Orange City, Florida. Lovie Holmes was a woman of great faith, a caring volunteer, serving the less fortunate, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She faced her greatest challenges in recent years with faithfulness, strength and grace, always knowing Jesus was always at her side.
Lovie is preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, Oliver, SL, George, Melvin, Wiley and Vergous Quinn; two sisters, Clementine Nunnery and Mildred Ratliff; two children, Robert Earl Connerly and Annie Ruth Walker.
She leaves a devoted husband, Clarence Holmes of Sanford, Florida; four children, Lennie Rhodes III of Detroit, Michigan, Derrick and Marty Rhodes of Mount Dora, Florida, Kathy Andres of East Lansing, Michigan; six grandchildren, Byron Walker of Las Vegas, NV, Vincent Walker of Atlanta, Georgia, William Walker of Lapeer, Michigan, David Walker of Columbus, Ohio, Andrea and Gregory Andres of Lansing, Michigan; four great-grandchildren, Daja Walker of Detroit, Michigan, David Walker, Jr. of Columbus, Ohio, Breanne and Layla Andres of Lansing, Michigan; three sisters, Jerzine Carter of Detroit, Michigan, Hilda Rowe of Orlando, Florida, Brenda Jones of Lake Mary, Florida, one brother-in-law, Robert Jones of Lake Mary, Florida and many loved nieces and nephews and many special friends.
