Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Augustus Dismukes, Jr., who peacefully fell asleep in the Lord on June 23, 2026 at the age of 86. He will be greatly missed by his children, family, and friends.

Brother Dismukes was a devoted Christian whose life was firmly rooted in his faith in Jesus Christ. As a faithful member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, he loved the Lord wholeheartedly and sought to honor Him through a life of humble service, compassion, and unwavering commitment. His greatest desire was to reflect Christ's character and to share God's love with everyone he encountered.

He will be lovingly remembered for his gentle spirit, warm smile, kind heart, and quiet strength. His thoughtful words, generous nature, and genuine concern for others touched countless lives. He had a special gift for making people feel welcomed, valued, and loved.

Music was one of God's precious gifts to him. Whether singing, playing an instrument, or sharing music with family, friends, and his church, he used his musical talents to glorify God and bring comfort, hope, and joy to those around him. His love for music was matched only by his love for his Savior and for the people he served.

His legacy is one of faith, integrity, kindness, and selfless service. Those who knew him were blessed by his example and will forever treasure the memories they shared with him.

While our hearts grieve his passing, we do not grieve without hope. We find comfort in the blessed assurance of God's promise that those who sleep in Jesus will one day be raised to everlasting life at Christ's glorious return. Until that resurrection morning, Brother Dismukes rests peacefully, awaiting the call of the Life-Giver.

We look forward with hope to that glorious day when, by God's grace, death will be swallowed up in victory, tears will be wiped away, and we will be joyfully reunited with our beloved friend.

"Even so, come, Lord Jesus." — Revelation 22:20
