Obituary

Fredrick Williams Obituary On September 21, 1957, the late Winfred Williams and Stella Mae Nixon Williams were blessed with a son. They name him Fredrick Donnell Williams, and nick named him Ballie. Ballie was born in Shiloh, North Carolina. He attended Mary Anderson and Camden high schools which are located in Camden County North Carolina. Ballie was the proud parent of one son when he was in his twenties (his dad said he lucked up on that one). Fredrick would work with his father and older brothers after school. As he got older and finished school, he traveled the states working with race horses. Later, Ballie started working as a prep cook in Nags Head, North Carolina until his health started to fail. He then moved to Florida to be with his older brother, the late George Williams and his older sister (who spoiled him rotten), Gloria B. Williams. While in Florida he met and married the beautiful Dorothy Williams. Fredrick was so happy when he called home and told his family that he had gotten married. He was like a kid in a candy store. Fredric joined Philadelphia Baptist Church at an early age. As a teen, he loved drawing and painting, and he was very good at it. He was also good at fixing things around the house. His niece, Cynthia "Tubby" Whitehurst just knew her uncle could fix anything. Sadly mourning his departure are: his wife-Dorothy Williams of Altamont Springs, Florida; five sons - Jervon McGilberry of Petersburg, Virginia, Derrick (Maria) Fields of West Virginia, Richard Fields, David Miller, Darryl West of Altamonte Springs, Florida; two daughters - Shameena (Brandon) Hadley of Gary, Indiana and Barbara Fields of Casselberry, Florida; four sisters - Shirley Harris of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Gloria Williams of Sanford, Florida, Edna Sellers and Desiree Winslow from Elizabeth City, North Carolina; two brother-in-laws-Marvin Sellers of Woodsville, North Carolina and Eugene Winslow of Elizabeth City, North Carolina; three aunts - Susis Spratley of Smithfield, Virgina, Odessa Williams of Belscross, North Carolina and Elessie Hughes of Shiloh, North Carolina; one uncle - David Spratley of Smithfield, Virginia; eleven lovely grandchildren; five god-brothers - Fleetwood Banks and Fredrick Gallop of Camden, North Carolina, America "Mike" Gallop of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, Bernard Toppings of Nebraska, Arkansas and Dough Burnham of Camden, North Carolina; five nieces, four nephews, five great-nieces, six great-nephews, six great-great nieces and five great-great nephews; a host of cousins and many friends. Fredrick Donnell Williams was loved by many, and he will be greatly missed by many.
