GLADYS HELMSORIG Obituary Gladys Olivia Helmsorig passed away on April 26, 2024 in Orlando, Florida. She was born on March 14, 1959, in Far Rockaway, New York to Fritz and Abby Helmsorig. Fritz was a World War II Veteran that worked in the upholstery business and Abby was a social worker for the Department of Welfare in New York City. Abby named Gladys after her favorite flower the Gladiola. Gladys prided herself as being both Jewish from her Mothers side and Catholic from her Fathers side. She would claim she had the best of both worlds, and continued to walk a Spiritual path until her last breath. Gladys loved horseback riding, classic rock, reading books, and spending time at the beach. She studied Liberal Arts at NYCC, and worked in the hotel business for many years, and was a proud union member. Gladys was a kind soul, and no matter what trials and tribulations she was going through, she was always there for the people she loved. She will surely be missed by all.
