Obituary

Hailey Bacchus Obituary Hailey Arielle Danae Bacchus was born on on February 28, 1999 in the early morning to Harold and Danita Bacchus at Orlando Regional Medical Center in Orlando. Little did anyone know that her light would shine so bright to so many around the world. She had an infectious smile, when she was ready that was warm and inviting and could light up a room. She was educated at home from the time she was born. By the time she was ready to enter her first school, the former Ingrams Academy she knew the Lords Prayer, the 23rd Psalm, her name, parents name, alphabet, numbers and was learning to read. The same year she became a member of Children of Joy and sang her first solo in church, Blessed Assurance. Hailey went on to learn songs and hymns as if the angels of God told her the words. She returned to homeschooling where she began reading chapter books and developed her math skills. After her parents could not keep up with her educational strides, the consented to put her in Lake Gem Elementary. There she learned valuable lessons that woke her up about people. After a year of growth and many educational battles with administration, she was tested and deemed gifted. She transferred to Lake Silver Elementary School into the Math Magnet Program, where she excelled and was recognized for her Math excellence. Upon completion she attended Robert E. Lee Middle School where she became apart of the IB Program. In August 2013, Hailey entered the Engineering Program at Edgewater High School. During her Junior and Senior years she was a part of the Dual Enrollment Program at Valencia College. Hailey graduated and in August four years later she became a student of Oglethorpe University in Atlanta Georgia. Here she made many friends and had many different paths within her journey. With each return home, there was a difference and growth to her journey. At school, her love increased as she learned more about who she was and who she was guided to become. It was during this time she decided she was finished with Math and followed the course of Political Science. She was proud to share her political arguments with her instructors that showed her knowledge, especially when she was correct and they were not. During her 4 short years at University, she made numerous friends, but she stayed true to her path. In her Junior year she was asked to join the Collegic 100. She agreed and her educational and social circle increased to include other students from all over Atlanta. Haileys light and influence is still shining with each day in those she knew, loved, an in those who loved her. Hailey is survived by her parents, Harold and Danita Bacchus, her brother DaVon, sister Melissa, Grandmothers, Carmin Brathwaite and Tina Greaves, Aunts, (Marianne, Suzanne, Michele) Uncles (Deon, Winston, Emmerson ), nephews (Zamier, Xyion, Royale, Reign, and baby girl) a host of cousins and numerous friends.
