Henry McClendon II Obituary Henry GRADY McClendon II was welcomed into the heavenly arms of God on June 12, 2023 at the age of 81. Grady was a proud native Floridian and his friendship was a true gift to many. He was an accomplished graduate of Emory University as a member of Chi Phi fraternity and talented Glee Club soloist. He spent his young adult life working in sales in New York City, a natural fit for his charisma. He returned home to Florida in the 1980s and began his career in Career Counseling which was truly his calling. He had a lifelong passion for learning and received a Masters Degree in Counseling from the University of South Florida and an Honorary Doctorate from Webber International University. He retired from Webber International University in 2005 as the Director of Career Services. He made lifelong impressions upon many of his students who continued to keep in touch throughout his lifetime. Grady was a passionate supporter of the local arts community and shared this love generously with others. Throughout his life Grady had a love for traveling and appreciating art around the world. He had over 44 years of sobriety at the time of his death and guided and supported many others through their sobriety journeys, the impact of which truly goes beyond measure. He was a thoughtful and supportive friend and had a talent for making those around him feel special. He surely left a legacy to be remembered and will be greatly missed. He was predeceased by his parents Henry and Gertrude McClendon. Grady is survived by his sister Ann (Fred) Voigt and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is also survived by many, many beloved close friends who were considered family.
