Born December 2nd, 1949, to John Lewis Russell, Jr. and Arlene F Russell. Raised by his mother, Arlene, after losing his father to a traffic accident at the age of five. Graduated high school from Miami military academy. Became a private investigator after a short term as a volunteer police officer (constable). Starting as a "repo man", authored a book titled "Involuntary repossession: or in the steal of the night" describing lock picking techniques and his own designed ignition extracting tools. The book was published by the infamous Paladin Press. Founded Russell and associates with his brother, Chris, and his mentor Bob Jane. Became a Member of FAPI (Florida Association of Private Investigators). Served as president for a few years and greatly grew its membership during his time of service. .Later Founded the Bureau of Missing Children, during the time of no internet or email, and formed a national network of private detectives and legislative support from state representatives on an advisory board. This work was accomplished through snail mail and land line communication(a very complex, time consuming task) .The idea of the agency was to fill in the limitations of law enforcement restricted by jurisdictions, resources, time, talent and street information. Through this network John was able to locate abducted children, mostly parental disputes, at a time where good detective work and speed was necessary. Many mothers, grandparents and law enforcement agencies benefitted from mostly donated detective work in the 1980s as a result of John's network. After the Bureau closed, John found a new passion; Scuba diving. After being certified as an open water diver, the absession took hold and became a Scuba instructor with PADI and boat captain. Certifying over 1000 students and logging over 5000 individual dives, John influenced a great many peoples to appreciate the ocean kingdom. He died alone but was able to touch a great many people's lives through his hard work and efforts. He is survived by his brother Chris Russell, retired private investigator and scuba instructor, Sister, Claudia Alread, retired schoolteacher and son John Lewis Russell IV Marine corps veteran, home electronics installer, appliance repair specialist, and Firefighting automotive assembler.

Mr. JOHN LEWIS RUSSELL III, will be remembered by all who were touched in heart & soul.
