Joyce Williams Obituary Joyce Phyllis Williams was born November 18, 1948, in Deland, Florida. She was the third of four siblings born to the late Charlie and Louise Williams. While still a toddler, her mom relocated to Pompano Beach, Florida, where she met and married Luther Snowden (affectionately known as "Pall"). To this union was born six children, making a total of ten. At an early age, Joyce accepted the Lord as her personal Savior. She was baptized and became a lifetime member of the Seventh Day Adventist church. Joyce attended Coleman Elementary (Pompano Beach), Mount Olivet SDA Junior Academy (Ft. Lauderdale) and Blanche Ely High School (Pompano Beach) where she graduated in the class of 1968. Through a culmination of these schools, she made many life-long friends. She had a love for working with children. In her lifes work, she was a teachers aide at Markham Elementary School, a dedicated foster parent, ran a home daycare, and served at Broward County Health Department for women and children. In 1956, through her cousins, the Simpsons, she met Harold Williams. She was eight and he was nine and hopeful. Their friendship blossomed, and as teenagers, Joyce and Harold became inseparable. After returning from Vietnam, they were married on December 15, 1968, by Pastor JP Monk. To this union was born Kimberly, Harold Jr., and Quincy. Rather than having both parents working, Joyce agreed to become a full-time homemaker to be there for their kids. She enjoyed singing in church choirs and groups in various places such as Salem, Mt. Sinai, Charlotte Berean, and Patmos Chapel. Another one of her lifes passions was spreading the good news of Jesus Christ through writing Christian stories, witnessing in the mall, and passing out Christian literature. Joyce was known for being friendly, outgoing, bubbly, and a match-maker. She could make a life-long friend out of a stranger. She also had many sayings including, "Give me my flowers now, because I want to see them" ... "Tell me you love me, because I want to hear it" "Harold, hug your sons and tell them that you love them; it wont make you any less of a man" "Were gonna have prayer before you take my daughter on a date!" and "Have you won any souls for Jesus?" On Sunday, November 12, 2017, at 12:05 AM, surrounded by family, God gently closed her eyes in rest, awaiting the first resurrection. Joyce will be missed, but not forgotten by: a loving and devoted husband, Harold Williams, Sr.; three children: Kimberly Greaux (Clayton), Harold Williams, Jr. (Sukari), and Quincy Williams (Rose); grandchildren: Clayton Greaux, Jr., Harold Williams, III, Kennedi Williams, Bryce Williams, and Londyn Williams; siblings: Charlie Williams (Annie), Shirley Wilcher (Jessie), James Snowden (Shirley deceased), Ronald Snowden, Betty Latimore (David-deceased), Jerome Snowdenand a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.*Family preceding her in death: parents- Luther and Louise Snowden; brothers- Larry Williams and Luther Snowden; sister- Josephine Bailey (Winston living).
