Justiniano Barreto Jr. Obituary On February 2, 2023, Justiniano Barreto Jr. ("Justi"),moved on to join our ancestral families in heaven. He was born to the late musical icon Justiniano Barreto Sr. and Consuelo Sangroni Barreto. Justi was born in Flower Hospital, in Spanish Harlem in NYC on August 18, 1954. The family later moved to Webster Avenue in Bronx, NY, where he attended schools, grades K-12. Justi inherited his love of music from his Dad. He enjoyed latin music, R & B, soul and jazz. He studied martial arts and learned how to play the African Djembe drums with a group called "Ike and the Drummers and Dancers of Today". He played with a steel band but loved drumming with his brother Angelo. Justi also looked forward to receiving devotions and scriptures from his brother on a daily basis. He later worked in General Motors Automotive Plant, in Tarrytown, NY. Justi was very competitive in sports: like basketball, handball, and Chinese handball. He was always dressed to impress, clean shaven and sharp. Justi later moved to Florida to be closer to his mother and sisters. He then met the love of his life, Barbara Hooks. They were together for many years until his passing. Justi will be remembered most dearly for loving his mother and family. He was a devoted father and grandfather. His family will miss his joyful laughter and smile and his famous sayings like: "it is what it is" and "thats the bottom line."
