LIFE REFLECTIONS
Katrina Lartasha McCall was born on February 23, 1973, to the loving Cynthia Curtis McCall and Samuel McCall in Orlando, Florida. She was one of the two children that they had together but was blessed with eight siblings, altogether.
Katrina (best known as Trina) attended Mt. Sinai S.D.A. Church from childhood until she became an adult. Her grandmother ("Granny"), Polly Curtis, one of Mt. Sinais founding members, was influential in her spiritual formation, and her Aunt Rosa continued this spiritual influence after the loss of her sister, Katrinas mother, as Katrina entered adulthood. Although Trina left the church for a while to see the world, upon getting married and having children, she decided to return to raise her family in the church.
Katrina was always working on a success plan. She tried cosmetology but didn't finish. Then she went back to school to study Billing and Coding because she wanted to pursue a career in healthcare, but her school closed suddenly four weeks before she was set to complete. She didn't give up; she just started school all over.
Yes, Katrina had some trials and tribulations. She finally decided to stop working, put her trust in God, and dedicate all her time to school, so she could finish. Her favorite song was 'Run til I Finish' By Smokey Norful, and she did. She graduated from Everest Universitys Healthcare Medical Administrative Assistant program. Throughout all these years, she continued to fight and work hard to raise her children, dealing with the challenges as they arose. She continued to attend church and served faithfully on the youth and children's choirs, as well as the Hospitality, Home, and School teams, and worked for many years at the Mt. Sinai Child Development Center. She was also an active member of the Kings Daughters Chapter III.
On Friday, June 13, 2025, Katrina peacefully passed, secure in the knowledge that she will one day hear Jesus calling her to the grand family reunion in Heaven.
Katrina leaves cherished memories for her four children, Toris Randolph Jr., MarTia Lynch, Mark Lynch, and Maria; seven grandchildren, Samara Calderone, Taylor Randolph, Matthias Lynch, Jameer Brown, JahAriyanna Brown, Malakai Lynch, and Amir Randolph; loving father, Samuel McCall, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and a host of caring cousins and friends.
