Lillie Gilmore Obituary Born Lillie Mae Pearl Gilmore on January 31,1933 to Leroy and Nettie Gilmore(parents), now deceased, she was the youngest of a family of three girls Ella Mae Gilmore and Lois Gilmore(deceased). Over the years, several stories have been told that at her birth, she possessed the striking resemblance of a little doll. At that time, she was given the nick name "Sister Doll" by her siblings. Although, she claimed she was not pleased with that name, she would quickly live up to it.
Lillie was a daddys girl explaining how shed ride on the shoulders of her father as he was hunting for food to feed his family. She felt very protected around her father. As a young teenager, she excelled in music by using her gifted soprano voice, while teaching herself how to play the piano. She loved to sing with church, School and College choirs, singing lead soprano in the FAMU Choir. While growing up in Cairo Ga. It would be safe to say that she lived a pampered life style. However, as a young adult she was faced with a lot of challenges while attending Fl A&M University. She married Pastor Robert Lee Daniels,(Deceased) and gave birth to Rodrick Daniels in the early 1950s. After a brief marriage, she would remarry to a James W. Hall ll(Deceased) several years later. Lillie and Jim would have 4 children listed in chronological order by birth James W. Hall lll, Felicia Hall, Howard L Hall and Torrance F. Hall.
Lillie was a home maker. She loved cooking meals for her kids. Youd hear her say at times, I have a lot of boys to feed and keep healthy. As a devout Christian, she was very devoted to her church and her beliefs. One might consider her as a prayer warrior often praying for others and their circumstances. She absolutely adored serving her adult kids during the holiday season. She loved planned fellowships with her family and friends. She was also considered as a mama grizzly bear when it came to her cubs.
