Obituary

Marian L. Quisenberry-Casey was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio, where she attended Dunbar High School and later graduated from Dayton Night School. She pursued higher education with determination and excellence, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio, and a Master of Science in Education with a specialization in Guidance Counseling from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.

Marian began her career in education teaching at the elementary and middle school levels in Dayton. In 1970, she relocated to Miami, Florida, where she continued her passion for education and counseling. She retired in 1994 from Miami Springs Senior High School, where she served as a dedicated guidance counselor. Following her retirement, she continued working part-time as a guidance counselor at Miami Union Academy (SDA) until 1996.

After leaving Miami, Marian moved to Winter Haven, Florida, where she remained active in her community. She contributed her time tutoring and substituting in several schools and was deeply involved in various organizations. Marian was an active member of the Polk County Retired Educators Association Unit II, served as a Guardian ad Litem volunteer since 2003, and was a devoted member of the American Association of University Women, Lake Wales Branch, since 1997. She also served as past president of the Eastern Region King's Daughters Organization and was a faithful member of All Nations Seventh-day Adventist Church in Winter Haven, Florida.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Clardean Wilkes; her sister, Charlene White; her grandparents, Edward T. and Mary Banks; her daughters, Lynette and Sheryle Stephens; her stepsons, Willie Casey, Sr and Robert Casey and her husband, Dennis Quisenberry Sr., of Dayton, Ohio and Winter Haven, Florida; and LC Casey from Eatonville, Florida and Winter Haven, Florida.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving family: sons Lawrence Stephens (Margo) of Dayton, Ohio; Dennis Quisenberry Jr. (Kamala) of Apopka, Florida; and Brian Quisenberry Sr. (Theresa) of Phoenix, Arizona; stepsons George Casey Sr. (Sheila) of Columbus, Georgia, and Nathaniel Casey Sr. (Michelle) of Orlando, Florida; stepdaughters Gracie Casey, Edith Foster, and Gloria Casey, all of Orlando, Florida; and her adopted daughter, Mary R. Smith (Marvin) of San Antonio, Texas. She is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
