Mercedes Diaz Obituary Mercedes Diaz Contreras (95 years of age, 1919-2015) Born on September 24, 1919 in Ixtlahuacan del Rio Jalisco, Mexico. Daughter to Guadalupe Diaz and Faustina Contreras. She was second to last of 14 siblings. Mercedes lived her childhood in Ixtlahuacan del Rio, Tala Jalisco and completed 4th grade. She married at the age of 19 to Jose de Jesus Garcia Vasquez. She bore 8 children whom are named as follows: Candelario, Leticia, Ignacio, Margarita, Celia 1st, Jesus, Guadalupe, and Celia. She established her residency in San Isidro, California, then she translated to Tijuana and afterward to Tala. In 2007, she finally went to live with her youngest daughter in Avon Park, Florida. The following are memories and stories about Mercedes provided by her children Leticia, Jesus, Margarita, and Celia: Every morning she would come out to her backyard that was in front of a sugarcane plantation, where her husband Jesus would work and she would hold a cup of tea and would scream "Tea of Boldo" and he would drink. She would scream again and drink another cup, everytime she would drink until her husband would come and then there was no tea left for him to drink. When Leticia was 8 years old and Margarita was 3 years old, they went out to cut down guavas, because the youngest sibling wanted to eat them. When Leticia went up to cut some guavas up the tree, there was a snake up there. She became so frightened that became paralyzed and falls from the tree into a ditch. The little sister dashes to her mother (Mercedes) and screams "mother she died, my sister died!" Mercedes runs to her daughter to find her alive and okay. When Soccer games were on at night, Alfonso (husband to Celia), would watch it at night in the living room. Mercedes would not want to go to sleep unless, he was sleeping. So, she would come out of the room and stand in front of him and in front of the TV and would not move. Then, she would tell him, "either you go to bed or I will take you to bed". One time in Tala, Jalisco, Mercedes tells his grandson Antonio if he would invite her to a beer, he says "Of course, grandmother" he takes her outside and they begin drinking. Her daughter, Margarita, comes out and tells her son, "If you guys keep drinking outside, the police is going to take you to jail!" Antonio answers back and says, "Mother, I will simply tell them that my grandmother invited me to drink with her" One day, Mercedes youngest daughter and family went to visit. Celias son, Luis, was only 5 years old and Mercedes wanted to make chicken soup. She had chickens in her backyard. She asked Luis if he could kill one of the chickens with a sling shot. He took the challenge and shot the chicken on the head. The chicken began to run out crazy and Mercedes grabbed it and snapped the neck. Sonia, Luis older sister, began to cry and told her mother Celia that she would not eat soup. Our hearts are found full of sorrow, because our mother is no longer with us, but forms part of the angels in heaven. You will always be with us; in every tear that is shed, You will live eternally in our hearts; You will remain alive always alive within us. Your memory, your last breath, Your example, your effort, have been engraved in our memory. Beautiful Mother, your discipline, your joy, your sorrow; and above all, above all Your affection, your love, your hugs are treasures that God gave us with you. You will forever live with us. (95 anos de edad, 1919-2015) nacio el 24 de Septiembre de 1919 en Ixtlahuacan del rio Jalisco, Mexico. Hija de Guadalupe Diaz y de Faustina Contreras. La penultima de 14 hijos. Curso su escuela primaria hasta cuarto grado. Vivio su infancia y juventud en Ixtlahuacan del Rio, Tala Jalisco. Contrae nupcias a los 19 anos de edad con Jose de Jesus Garcia Vazquez Concibe a 8 hijos, Candelario, Leticia, Ignacio, Margarita, Celia 1ra, Jesus, Guadalupe y Celia. Establece su residencia en San Isidro, California. Posteriormente se traslada a Tijuana, y Tala ; en 2007 finalmente se establece en Avon park, Florida. Por las mananas salia al corral que daba a la parcela donde laboraba, su esposo jesus con una taza de te, y gritaba te de boldo, Jesus. Te de boldo y le daba otro trago, y asi sucesivamente hasta que llegaba jesus y ya no habia te de boldo. Cuando Leticia tenia 8 anos y margarita de 3 anos, fueron a cortar guayabas, Leticia se subio a un guayabo por que la hermanita margarita queria guayabas, al subirse al arbol se encuentra una culebra en una rama , por lo que se queda paralizada y se cae del guayabo hasta una zanja, y la hermanita se arranca corre, corre hasta con su mama y le grita, mama , mama mi hermanita se murio , la mama se va corriendo por su otra nina. Cuando habia futbol por la noche, alfonso se ponia a verlo en la Tv en la sala. Y salia tres veces , la primera : alfonso ya metete a dormir. Ahorita dona meche . la segunda alfonso ya es hora de dormir, si dona meche, ahi voy. Tercera llamada: sale dona meche se para a un lado de alfonso y dice muy seria; o te metes a dormir o te meto, vamonos dona meche. Una vez en Tala, meche le dice a tono mijo me invitas una cerveza, claro que si abue, la saca a sentar a la calle y le empieza a dar cervezas y sale margarita y le dice, que si siguen tomando cerveza en la calle se los va a llevar la policia y tono contesta, a mi porque, yo les digo que mi abue me invite, para que se le lleven a ella. Un dia en la tarde meche le dice a luisito, mijo mata una gallina para hacer un caldito, y ahi va luisito y Sonia al corral a buscar a la gallina, luisito armado con una resortera y le dispara a la gallina y le pega en la cabeza y se agarra dando vueltas la gallina y meche le termina de quebrar el pezcueso, y se agarra llorando Sonia gritando yo no voy a comer, yo no voy a comer. Los corazones se encuentran tristes, porque nuestra madre ya forma parte de los angeles del cielo. Siempre estaras con nosotros En cada lagrima, en cada latido Viviras la eternidad en nuestro Corazon Aun permaneces viva, siempre viva.
