Obituary

Mr. Ruben Ogando Obituary Ruben Andres Ogando was born on September 21, 1947, in Santo Domingo, Republica Dominicana, to Angel Ogando and Mercedes de Savinion. Ruben was a handsome young man that would grow up to be a wonderful, loving person. He was blessed to have one older brother, David and two younger brothers, Angel and Ricardo and a sister, Darcis. Ruben was always known to family, friends and strangers as an open, giving person. He always had a smile on his face and he was willing to lend a helping hand. Ruben's loyal friendship, warmth, and smile was known to all. Ruben was an exceptional student. At the age of 16, his parents decided to move to Puerto Rico and there he attended the Academia Adventista Metropolitana and graduated in 1967. He then continued his education in Antilian College to start his nursing degree. During his first year of college, he had a terrible accident which caused his left leg to be amputated. But that didn't stop him from going forward. He then changed his degree to accounting and graduated in 1971. During his marriage with Angela Rodriguez, they bore three amazing, wonderful and God fearing sons, Hector Ruben, Armando Edil and Angel Miguel. The Ogando family moved to beautiful, sunny Florida in 1980 and made their home church here at Forest City Spanish SDA (FC). He loved to sing, play volleyball, dominoes, and his favorite was table tennis (ping pong). His competitive nature made him a fun rival, especially on many late nights in the FC gym. Throughout his time people got to know him and his caring, warm spirit. On September 5th, 2010 he joined his life with a lovely woman, Diana Ogando and her wonderful son, Dario Lopez. While their union was short, they were filled with many meaningful and happy moments. Ruben was with us a short 66 years, yet he left a lifetime of memories and an imprint in every heart he touched. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. Ruben's family and friends share the HOPE of seeing him again on that GREAT day when the Lord comes to take us all home. Unfortunately Ruben Ogando did not have life insurance to cover the funeral expenses. As a way of ministering to the Ogando's Madison Campus Elementary has set up a fund to offset the funeral expenses. All donations will be greatly appreciated by the Ogando family.
