Obituary for Dr. Wilfredo "Freddie" Nieves, Ph.D., LMHC

Dr. Wilfredo "Freddie" Nieves, age 65, passed away unexpectedly. He was born on August 31, 1960, at Metropolitan Hospital in New York to Maximino and Josephina Nieves. He was raised in New York alongside his siblings Rosa, Alex, Josie, Daisy, and Felicity. In 1972, he moved with his family to Puerto Rico before returning to New York during his teenage years. He later relocated to pursue his college education.

Dr. Nieves earned a Bachelor of Science from Southern Adventist University, a Master of Arts from Liberty University, and a Doctorate of Philosophy from Walden University. He was a counseling psychologist, educator, and clinical supervisor, and also served with the National Disaster Medical Assistance Team, providing crisis intervention and trauma support during national emergencies.

He is survived by his wife, Aida; his children, Crystal (Spouse: Luis), Freddy (Spouse: Minnie Sherrie), and Gabriel; his grandchildren, Ezekiel, Ezra, Mateo Elias, and Micah Andres; and his extended family. Dr. Nieves will be remembered for his professional dedication, his commitment to service, and the many lives he touched throughout his career
