Andrew Charles Forbes

Andrew Charles Forbes was born October 7th 1972 at Victoria Jubilee Hospital in Kingston Jamaica to parents Millicent & Owen Forbes. He was the last of five children. Andrew was determined to come out stepping into this world, despite numerous attempts by midwives to turn him around none the less he came out weighing 10lbs and some ounces.He was later baptized at St. Phillip’s  Anglican church.

Andrew attended St. Richard’s Primary School which is where he developed his love for track. He then went unto Calabar High School and became their star athlete under the guidance of his coach Mr. Herb McKinley. He ran Boys Champs in 1987 where he ran 100m hurdles and came first among other races. But his athletic career shortly ended due to an injury that required surgery on his leg. He then went on to graduating high school and attended University where he pursued Construction technology and a career at Rivi Gardner & Associates, Urban Development Corporation followed by Beaumont & Associates.

In 1989 he met the love of his life Jacinth Lambert-Watkins. She migrated  a year later but returned in 1993 with a surprised Andrew wasted no time in re-kindling after receiving a phone call from Jacinth. On September 1st 1995 they welcomed their first child Tahirah followed by their marriage on August 13, 1997. Jacinth went back to the states for a better life for her family and Andrew followed shortly after. Their union produced four children. Nadine (niece), Tahirah, Arria & Anderson.

In 2013 Andrew was diagnosed with cancer. He fought for six years with the support of his wife not giving up and having faith, But it was too much for his heart. On Tuesday February 5th, 2019 at 4:15AM surrounded by his family, Andrew’s heart gave the final beat and he went home to join his Father and Sister.

There was never a dull moment around Andrew, all he had to do was start a joke and everybody would laugh, he had a certain charisma that drew people to him. Though if something needed to be said, he said it as it is. Andrew loved and lived for his family, that is his greatest legacy.

Andrew is survived by his wife Jacinth, children Tahirah, Arria, Anderson,  His mother Millicent, brother, sisters, nieces, nephews aunts & uncles.

Andrew, Bibbie, Daddy, Dads, JuJu, Jango jus gwan bill a vybz and easy till we see you again.
