Constance Ramsey Obituary

“Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee. For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling. I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living.” Psalm 116:7-9

Constance Rene Ramsey was the only child born to the union of Connie Regina Watts Ramsey and Reginald Len Ramsey on May 16, 1991 in Denver, Colorado at St. Joseph Hospital. Her Baby Blessing was at an early age at Park Hill Seventh-day Adventist Church. Constance was blessed with four wonderful godparents: Jacqueline Waldon of Leesburg, Florida, Bernice and Lee Schroeder of Denver, Colorado, and Pamela Molbey of Denver, Colorado. They all were apart of Constance’s upbringing throughout her life.

Constance was educated at Wood Seventh-day Adventist Academy and Oakland High School in Aurora, Colorado. She also attended Copperas Coves High School in Texas while staying with her big cousin, LaShawn Powell, whom she loved dearly, until she became homesick and returned to Colorado.

Constance loved visiting with her dad during the summer months in Fisher, Indiana. She would always come back looking forward to the next summer to spend time with him again – she loved her dad! Constance was also happy to visit her family in Hammond and Baton Rouge, Louisiana where everyone knew her and she knew them. Now when she visited her godmother, Jackie, whom she affectionately called “Auntie Jackie,” in Florida, she would return to Denver to tell her mom, “Auntie Jackie beat me with a stick!” The irony is that Constance never knew what a “switch” was.

The first sport that Constance was ever introduced to was softball in Baton Rouge while playing with her cousin in the summer league. After learning not to sling the bat when she hit the ball, Constance started to really enjoy the sport.

Constance had numerous jobs in telemarketing, sales, and even as a receptionist and waitress. Her hobbies were karaoke, listening to good music, styling hair, and shopping. She loved to dress in fine clothes, high heels, and makeup. However, Constance’s greatest accomplishment and hobby of all was being a mother to her beautiful daughter, Azaria Le’nay Ramsey. In the wee hours of the morning on October 16, 2019, our dear Constance was called to rest. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents- Doris Watts Morgan and Lee M. Watts, Sr. She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter - Azaria Le’nay Ramsey of Aurora, CO; her mother- Connie Ramsey of Aurora, CO; her father - Reginald Len Ramsey (Lora) of Fisher, IN; paternal grandparents - Minor Ramsey and Florence Ramsey of Hammond, LA; aunts - Ann Clark (Larry) of Baton Rouge, LA - Regina Ramsey of Baton Rouge, LA - Fannie McFadden of Hammond, LA - Renee Ramsey of Hammond, LA: uncles - Lee Watts, Jr. (Gwen) of Hammond, LA - Wade Watts, Sr. (Amelia) of Hammond, LA- Joseph Watts of Long Beach, CA -Vesta Watts (Rita) of Denver, CO; godparents- Jacqueline Waldon (Brent) of Leesburg, Florida - Bernice and Lee Schroeder of Denver, CO - Pamela Molbey of Denver, CO; a special friend - Raeshawn James of Aurora, CO; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, church members, and friends. May she RIP my baby!
