Cynthia Grace Hinds

November 12, 1930 ~ September 25, 2020 (age 89)

Cynthia Grace Mabel Hinds, 89, of Altamonte Springs, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2020 at Regents Park of Winter Park, Florida.

She leaves behind and was the beloved wife of Rudolph Hinds.  She was the dear sister of Lynette (Franklin Hamilton), a loving mother to Phillip (Tracey Gayle), Bridgett (Derek Jackson), Raymond (Nadine Hinds) the best grandmother to Nathan and Noah, Brittanie and Danielle, Johnathan and Christopher and was loved and adored by her thirteen nieces and nephews (Joan, Bennidick, Adrian, Deidre, Bernadette, Deidre, Karen, Ian, Pamela, Nicole, Tamika, Ava, Soyini), and twenty-three great nephews and nieces.  She adored her two sisters-in law Catherine Padmore and Pamela Padmore and two brothers-in law Leon Gentle and Franklyn Hamilton.

She was born November 12, 1930 in Georgetown, Guyana, to Amos and Chritabel Padmore and grew up the second eldest of five siblings.

She attended and graduated from Tutorial High School in Guyana, and later taught Mathematics and Latin before moving to Guyana Main Post Office and Savings Bank.  She moved to Toronto, Canada in search of new opportunities.

After initially working at Bell she moved to the Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services retiring as manager.  These occupations developed many cherished and lifelong friends.

She married Cyril McCallum and attended Immanuel Seventh Day Adventist Church where she enjoyed teaching Sabbath School to the young children.  After Cyril passed away, she remained an integral part of the Immanuel Church family.

Years later, she re-kindled her friendship with her childhood friend Rudolph Hinds and the couple later married.  They lived in Toronto until she retired and they relocated to Florida near Rudolph’s family.  Here she took great pleasure nurturing her grandchildren and many others.

She shared memorable experiences fellowshipping with her brothers and sisters in Christ at Kress Memorial, Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Cynthia was very loyal to her family and close friends and her generosity was unparalleled.  In times of need she did not hesitate to help friends and extended family who still speak of her tender heart.

Her family, church and life-long friends were a very dear and important part of her life. She often reminisced, sharing fond memories she had in Guyana, Jamaica, England, Canada and the United States. Her piano and dresser overflowed with pictures of those she loved and were her pride and joy.

Her presence will be greatly missed by the multitude of people whose lives she has touched.

Beside her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband Cyril McCallum and her siblings Cecil Padmore, Neville Padmore and Enid Gentle (nee Padmore).
