Jacquelyn Howard Obituary

On February 22, 1960, the Lord blessed Mary and Robert Parks with Jacquelyn (AKA “Jackie”), a beautiful baby girl. Jackie attended Dillard High School in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and Adelphian Junior Academy in Holly, Michigan. She married Ernest, the love of her life on June 8, 1986 in Pontiac, Michigan. Their love of singing took them all over the country. They sang together in several church choirs and small groups including David Rugless and Revelation, Persuasion, Remnant, and Grace Singers to name a few. In addition to singing in groups, they performed many duets together at church, weddings, and other special occasions. Jackie’s soprano voice was well appreciated and received many standing ovations. Jackie attended Mt. Sinai SDA Church until her health declined. She worked in the Treasury Department and was an active member of the Music Department, singing whenever she could.

Jackie worked as a phlebotomist at Florida Hospital Orlando before deciding to change careers. She received her LPN degree on July 30, 1992 and her RN degree on June 21, 1994 from Seminole Community College. Jackie enjoyed working as a caregiver in Home Health. When not at work, she enjoyed spending time with Ernest and their many pets including 3 horses, birds, dogs and 1 cat. She was truly a lover of animals. Her hobbies included photography, painting, calligraphy, drawing, and shopping.

When not spending time together at home on their acres of land, they spent time on the water. They enjoyed travelling and went on many cruises. The longest and most recent cruise was a Transatlantic Cruise departing from Barcelona, Spain with several stops in the Canary Islands before crossing the Atlantic Ocean, stopping in the Bahamas, and arriving back in Florida.

Jackie suffered 2 strokes in May 2017. As her health began to decline, Ernest became her devoted caregiver, doing whatever he could to make her comfortable and happy. On July 4, 2022 she was surrounded by Ernest, family, and friends as she took her last breath, being freed from pain and suffering.

As she awaits the resurrection, she leaves Ernest, her loving and faithful husband of 36 years, to cherish her memory. Her parents and Ernest Howard, Sr., father-in-love, preceded her in death, but she leaves to mourn Julia, her mother-in-love, along with a host of other family members and friends. Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus!
