John Wells, Jr.

John Lee Wells, Jr. was born on May 4, 1968 to the loving union of John Lee Wells, Sr. and Marguerite Wells. Affectionately known as Little John, young John was a talkative and friendly child who never met a stranger.

At the tender age of nine he gave his heart to the Lord being baptized in St Petersburg, Florida by the late Pastor O.J. McKinney. John loved to sing and would often sing at home with his younger brothers and even spread his talents at church. As the son of a minister and literature evangelist John would assist his father on literature campaigns selling religious books. He also worked with the young people of Southeastern Conference as a camp counselor for Junior Camp. He loved to witness wherever he went, telling people about the love of Jesus.

John was a product of Christian education. A smart child, John matriculated Oakwood Elementary (now known as Oakwood Academy) in Huntsville, AL, Ft. Lauderdale District School in Ft. Lauderdale, FL during his elementary years and through Miami Union Academy in Miami FL and Forest Lake Academy in Orlando, FL during his high school years. He then attended Oakwood College (now Oakwood University) in Huntsville, AL where he gained not only an education, but became a member of Zeta Alpha Gamma Psi and gained lifelong friends.

In 1995, he married Aneta Blocker of Dallas, Texas. Then in 1996, John and his then wife Aneta brought into the world their beautiful daughter Chrishel whom he loved, cherished, and adored.

As a go-getter and a people person, John poured passion and excitement into anything he put his mind to. He was passionate about his work. He loved to laugh, loved God, and loved his family and friends.

On the afternoon of February 12, 2020, John was not feeling well while at work and therefore went to the hospital. The next evening, February 13, 2020, John took his rest in Jesus. John was proceeded in death by his father John Lee Wells, Sr. He leaves to cherish his memory; his daughter Chrishel; his mother Marguerite Wells; his brothers, Byron Sr. (Quernande) and Kevin (Cassandra); Nephews: Byron Jr, Christopher & Seth, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, god-parents, and friends.
